SEATTLE – After nearly two years as Chief Executive Officer of the Professional Bowlers Association, Geoff Reiss announced Monday he is transitioning from his role to join the organization's board of directors, effective September 9. Commissioner Tom Clark will assume day-to-day management responsibility for the PBA.
"Tom's vast experience and passion for the sport of bowling give him a unique ability to see our turnaround through its final phase" Reiss said. "I look forward to continuing to work with Tom as we build on the momentum we've created the past year."
“We’ve got a big year ahead,” Clark said. “Our dedicated staff and I will continue to build our fan base, create opportunities for our players and grow our relationships with partners and sponsors.”
Reiss became the PBA’s CEO and Clark assumed his role as Commissioner on Nov. 1, 2011.
The PBA will conclude its 2012-13 season with the PBA World Series of Bowling V at South Point Hotel, Casino and Bowling Center Oct. 25-Nov. 3 followed by the Round1 Japan Cup.
ESPN coverage of the multi-event World Series will be followed by the return of PBA League competition in early January from Thunderbowl Lanes in Allen Park Mich.
