(This is the third in a weekly series of reports on Professional Bowlers Association League

transactions and activity for the 2014 season)

Free agent signing period for 2014 PBA League begins Sunday

With the re-signing period set to end at midnight Saturday, and the free agent signing period set to kick off Sunday, activity for the 2014 PBA League season is expected to heat up next week.

As a reminder, team managers have until Saturday to re-sign up to three players from their existing 2013 rosters. Players who are released or unsigned as of Aug. 31 will be eligible to negotiate with other teams between Sunday and Oct. 1. No team may sign more than four players, assuring that each team will have at least one open position for the draft. Unsigned free agents and any player from the top 50 on the 2012-13 PBA competition points list may enter the 2014 player draft which will be conducted on Monday, Nov. 4, following the World Series at South Point Bowling Center in Las Vegas.
